Welcome to Louisiana
There are more than 50 million Americans with Arthritis - 923,000 of them live in Louisiana. The Arthritis Foundation is the Champion of Yes. We are focused on finding a cure and championing the fight against arthritis through vital information, advocacy, science and community. Our goal is to chart a winning course, guiding families in developing personalized plans for saying yes – day after day.
Gardening Made Easier is a program designed to provide you with the knowledge and insights you need to maintain an active and fulfilling lifestyle with arthritis. In this program we’ll share experts’ tips, techniques and tools – short cuts- to make gardening tasks easier on joints, less exhausting and generally more enjoyable. The program will be facilitated by a health care provider, Arthritis Foundation staff member, and gardening specialist. You’ll also hear from other people who have arthritis about their gardnening techniques and have the opportunity to share your own. During the program, guests will participate in a potting party and test easy to use gardening products.
On Saturday, April 21st, the Kappa Chi chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi will be hosting our second Strike Out Arthritis! kickball tournament on Northwestern State University's campus. We are asking our community and fellow students to participate in this event. All proceeds will go to the Arthritis Foundation for arthritis research. With your help, we hope to reach our goal of $5,000 to aid those who are suffering from this disease and work on finding a cure.
