Illinois Advocacy

The Arthritis Foundation promotes government and private sector action to improve the lives of the 50 million Americans living with arthritis and chronic joint symptoms. We need your help, however, to get more government funding for arthritis research, to encourage early diagnosis and comprehensive treatment, and to improve access to quality health care for everyone with arthritis.

Step Therapy

We are happy to announce our full support of HB 5928, a key piece of legislation introduced on February 11th by IL State Rep. Laura Fine (D-Glenview) which will curb the practice of #StepTherapy. Thanks to this bill, Illinois patients with arthritis and other chronic illnesses will have a clear process to appeal step therapy protocols, ensuring they can receive the most appropriate treatment as prescribed by doctors. The Arthritis Foundation signed onto a group letter to the Illinois Department of Insurance regarding Step Therapy. Please take a look!

Congratulations to Cindy Copenhaver, our 2015 Illinois Platinum Ambassador!

Cindy, along with volunteers across the country, has gone above and beyond the assignments for the Ambassador program, laying the groundwork for advocacy initiatives in 2016. Thank you!

You, too, can join the advocacy movement!
