Loteprednol etabonate (eye drops)

Class: Corticosteroids
Used to relieve dry eyes associated with Sjogren’s syndrome.
Dosage
Form(s): eye drops
1 or 2 drops, four times daily
Special Instructions
If you wear contact lenses, remove them before applying drops. Wait 15 minutes before putting contacts back in eyes.
To apply drops, tilt your head back and look up. Pull down lower eyelid to create a pouch, then squeeze dropper directly over the eye. Close eyes for 1 or 2 minutes after applying drops.
Potential Side Effects
Blurred vision; burning sensation; discharge; itching; sensation of having a foreign body in the eye; sensitivity of eye to light; swelling of the eye surface

Let your doctor know if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. It is not known if this drug will harm your unborn baby. Let your doctor know if you are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. It is not known if this drug passes into your breast milk. Talk to your doctor about the best way to feed your baby.
