Romosozumab
Drug Name(s): Evenity
Class: Biologics
Used to treat osteoporosis in postmenopausal women who are at high risk of fracture and patients who cannot use another osteoporosis medicine and who have had inadequate response to other osteoporosis medicines.
Dosage
Form(s): injection
210 mg (delivered as two back-to-back injections) once a month, up to 12 doses
Special Instructions
You must receive adequate calcium and vitamin D supplementation during treatment.
Potential Side Effects
The most commonly reported side effects were joint pain and headache.
Be Aware
This drug may increase the risk of heart attack, stroke and cardiovascular death, and it should not be used in patients who have had a heart attack or stroke within the previous year.
