Matt is a Daytime Emmy Award-winning comedic actor and licensed physician who currently hosts NBC’s heart-racing obstacle-course competition series, “American Ninja Warrior,” as well as Esquire Network’s spinoff, “Team Ninja Warrior.” Matt is also a contestant on the upcoming Season 8 of NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice.”
Diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in 2002, Matt has taken the age-old adage “laughter is the best medicine” to a whole new level by combining his medical background with his standup comedy routine. An honor graduate of Princeton, he received his MD from the Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons, but decided to focus his talents on the entertainment world. Matt’s successful career has spanned more than a decade, in which he was also host of “Sports Soup” and the Go-To Guy on “Clean House.”
Last year in New Orleans, Matt emceed the Arthritis Foundation’s Evening of Honors. He was such a big hit, and we’re delighted to welcome him back as host of this year’s ceremony!
