World Arthritis Day is October 12

group of people who were hikingThe Invisible Impact of Arthritis

Thank you for your partnering with us on World Arthritis Day —  a day to shine a light on the true impact of arthritis and show support for the millions of adults, children and caregivers affected.

Arthritis is often invisible but the impact is real and shows up every single day. Here are some facts many people don’t realize:

  • Arthritis is the #1 cause of disability in the U.S., affecting 1 in 4 adults.
  • Kids get arthritis, too, affecting hundreds of thousands of children.
  • 90% of people who live with arthritis say it interferes with their daily lives.
  • It’s not just an older person’s disease — two-thirds of adults with arthritis are younger than 65 years old, managing their symptoms while working, parenting and more. Plus, hundreds of thousands of children younger than 17 have arthritis.
  • There are over 100 types of arthritis, including osteoarthritis and autoimmune forms like rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis.

This World Arthritis Day, we invite you to join us in raising awareness of just how far-reaching the impact of arthritis can be.
