The Arthritis Foundation Ambassador Program Relaunches With a More Accessible Approach to Advocating

ATLANTA (November 1, 2023) – The Arthritis Foundation has revamped its Advocacy Ambassador program to build support for a more inclusive arthritis Advocate experience.

Arthritis Foundation Advocates can now opt in to engagement activities that better align with their personal interests, level of experience and long-term goals related to advancing legislation that improves their health. In these grassroots roles, Advocates will collaborate closely with each other and Arthritis Foundation staff to:

  • Understand how the public policy-making process intersects with Advocates listening and sharing their personal narratives and lived experiences.
  • Motivate decision-makers at state and federal levels to champion proposed legislation to improve care for people living with arthritis, from getting a correct diagnosis to finding treatment options and through the continuity of disease management long term.
  • Serve in an advisory capacity to drive better access to quality care through advocacy.

“This new era of the Ambassador program is designed to make advocacy a dynamic and personalized experience, tapping into what drives Ambassadors to advocate and showcasing the power of their stories” – Anna Hyde, VP of Advocacy and Access

New Ambassadors will join the thousands of arthritis advocates who have engaged with their state and federal legislators, written letters, made calls, shared testimonies with the media and have effected change by taking action.
