Money-Saving Apps for Arthritis Medications

Lower your pharmacy bills with these tools.

Even if you have health insurance, prescription drugs can be pricey. You may have a high deductible or co-pay or you may need a prescription that’s not covered by your plan.

To cut your pharmacy bill, consider downloading one of these popular money-saving apps. They can be used in lieu of your health care plan if your insurance charges more for your prescription or doesn’t cover it at all.

GoodRx (goodrx.com): The same drug can cost a lot more at one pharmacy than another. With this app, search for the lowest local price among more than 75,000 pharmacies nationwide and get coupons, refill reminders and savings alerts.

Blink Health Rx (blinkhealth.com): Blink Health negotiates with pharmacy companies to sell more than 15,000 medicines at a reduced cost. Buy your prescription through the website or app and get it shipped to your home or pick it up at a nearby pharmacy.

RxSaver (rxsaver.com): Enter your prescription drug’s name into this app to compare prices at local pharmacies.  RxSaver also provides coupons and may save you up to 80% on prescriptions.

ScriptSaveWellRx (wellrx.com): Search for the lowest price for your medicine at more than 65,000 pharmacies, and show the app at the pharmacy for a discount. The company claims you’ll save 60% on average.  The app features medication information and tools to “ask the pharmacist” and to track your medicines, symptoms and mood, so you and your doctor can determine how the medication is affecting you.
