See how we're aiming to address the growing shortage of arthritis specialists, especially in under-served parts of the country.
Over the past few decades, the Arthritis Foundation and the arthritis community have made enormous strides in helping patients. Today, however, there aren’t enough rheumatologists available to diagnose, treat and dispense drugs to the people who need them. And unless something is done, the problem will only get worse.

The Arthritis Foundation’s Fellowship DEI Request For Proposals (RFP)
Application deadline: Wednesday, June 30, 2021, 5:00 pm Eastern
The Arthritis Foundation is committed to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) to train a diverse generation of rheumatologists and to improve health outcomes for all patients with rheumatic diseases.
Two complementary initiatives are being launched in 2021 to support our aspirations. The first to provide seed funding to support innovative research to improve health outcomes across different racial or ethnic groups; the second to increase diversity in the next generation of rheumatology researchers and physicians.
For application and instructions, please visit https://proposalcentral.com/ and scroll to the bottom to the blue "See All Opportunities" button, and search for Arthritis. The instruction can be downloaded by clicking the paper icon to the right of the words “Fellowship DEI”.
