Juvenile Arthritis

The Arthritis Foundation leads the way in helping people with arthritis live better today and create better tomorrows through new treatments, better access and, ultimately, cures.

If your child is diagnosed with juvenile arthritis, we're glad you're here. Here are some Arthritis Foundation resources that may help you better manage and live with your disease are:

POWER PACK Outreach Program (formerly SAK)

The Arthritis Foundation understands and cares when a family experiences a new diagnosis of juvenile arthritis. That’s why we offer our JA Power Pack – a toolkit with useful information and tools to assist newly-diagnosed children and teens, as well as their parents. These resources were designed to give you and your family the POWER to make living with JA easier. Knowing what to expect and how to deal with it is the key to better living with JA. And our JA Power Pack will help get you started. Now the power is in your hands!

Pacific Region’s JA Power Pack includes:

  • Raising a Child with Arthritis: A Parent's Guide
Explains the various types of juvenile arthritis, as well as treatment options and medications available
  • Arthritis in Children & Juvenile Arthritis – A Teachers Guide brochures
Provides general JA information and child-specific issues such as reports, after-school activities, school attendance and laws that may be helpful
  • Thermal Aid Bear
A therapeutic fuzzy friend to comfort your child and provide hot or cold treatment to soothe those aching joints
  • Health Organizer
