Be a Champion for Conquering Arthritis!

The Arthritis Foundation is proud to be a NYRR Charity Partner for the 2016 TCS New York City Marathon on Sunday, November 6. By running on our team, you have guaranteed entry to one of the world’s most exciting running experiences. There are a limited number of entries to this year’s race. In exchange for a guaranteed entry to the marathon, team members commit to raising a minimum of $3,000 to support our mission to conquer arthritis.

Runners will receive:

  • Guaranteed entry into the 2016 TCS New York City Marathon
  • A personal fundraising website
  • Team Arthritis Foundation race day running singlet
  • An invitation to our team brunch Saturday before the race

FAQs

How do I apply?

Click here, or on the "apply now" button to complete an application online. Applications should be completed no later than September 1, 2016. For questions, please contact Bianca Roland at (212) 984-8705 or broland@arthritis.org. When your completed application is received, you will be set up with your personal fundraising page on CrowdRise. We have 15 guaranteed entries and spots will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis.

How much money do I have to raise?

Runners commit to raise a minimum of $3,000 to participate on our team. The Arthritis Foundation will provide you with the tools and resources to help make fundraising easy. If you do not reach the $3,000 goal by October 20, your credit card will be charged the difference.

Is there a registration fee?

Yes. There is a $100 registration fee that will be charged through CrowdRise when you set up your personal fundraising page. The $100 will go towards your $3,000 fundraising minimum.

How will the Arthritis Foundation use the funds that I raise?

Money raised will fund scientific research to discover better treatments and programs that help people live better with arthritis. For every dollar raised, more than 75 cents goes directly to fund our mission.

Is the NYRR entry fee to the marathon included?

No, participants are responsible for paying the entry fees to NYRR for each guaranteed entry. This entry fee is not included in your $3,000 fundraising goal.

What happens if I get injured?

In the case of an injury, your entry can be deferred to the 2017 New York City Marathon. You must have your fundraising goal met by October 20 to be eligible for deferment.
