Welcome to Florida
There are more than 52 million Americans with Arthritis - 4,022,000 of them live in Florida. The Arthritis Foundation is the Champion of Yes. We are focused on finding a cure and championing the fight against arthritis through vital information, advocacy, science and community. Our goal is to chart a winning course, guiding families in developing personalized plans for saying yes – day after day.
This magical event features more than 20 juvenile arthritis (JA) champions, ages 3-17, leaving their arthritis pain behind while walking the runway in the latest fashions! Professional models will showcase the latest fashion collections while performing with the JA models and teaching them how to strut their “stuff” on the catwalk with confidence and style. The kids enjoy professional hair treatments and make-up to complete their runway looks and paparazzi-style photos to show it all off to friends and family.
In partnership with Nicklaus Children's Hospital and Dr. Rivas-Chacon, Camp Fun Rise gives kids living with juvenile arthritis and other childhood rheumatic diseases the chance to be themselves. Camp Fun Rise provides a safe and nurturing environment that is supervised by trained staff and medical professionals. It features traditional summer camping activities, from games and crafts to campfires and sing-alongs.
In addition to forging new friendships and amazing memories, campers gain a better understanding of their disease while increasing independence and self-confidence.
Parents can apply for camp through Dr. Rivas-Chacon. For more information contact Katie Bertotti at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 615-806-8538.
