Kerstan Sokoloski was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) at 26 years old, after experiencing increasing pain in her wrists and hands which spread throughout her body. After spending years finding a treatment that manages her pain, Kerstan made the difficult decision to abstain from medication when she became pregnant with her daughter, Ellie.
It has been nearly two years since Ellie’s birth, and Kerstan has just now begun to manage the pain. “Each day, I choose to make the most of the day in spite of my condition. I start every day being hopeful that today is the day I will start prolonged progress in overcoming RA. I can’t lose hope that one day there will be a cure.”
