When Raquel’s daughter was diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), she wanted to do anything she could to help relieve her child’s pain and inflammation. When she found the Arthritis Foundation and heard about the California Coast Classic bike tour, she knew exactly what she could do to help.
The annual bike tour raises money to help fund research to find a cure for arthritis. Raquel was among hundreds of riders who rode along the California coast in an effort the raise funds and awareness for arthritis.
“Staff and riders really took the time to get to know you and your story,” says Raquel. “Each rider has a different connection to arthritis, and as part of this ride, we were riding with a purpose. The connection to this important cause made the journey down the coast much more meaningful.”
