POSITION SUMMARY (Basic purpose or primary function of job)

The Marketing Services Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, collaborative development, implementation, and day-to-day marketing duties of revenue development programs in support of the Arthritis Foundation’s strategic objectives. The Marketing Services Manager will work closely with Senior Directors, Directors, Associate Directors, and key staff members to anticipate and plan marketing and communications support for Corporate and Cause Development and establish accountability. In this role, the Marketing Services Manager will help to define and meet all key performance indicators and support the corporate team in having products to sell and delivering marketing benefits for partners.  


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (Principal responsibilities or job duties)

  1. Facilitate strategic interdepartmental planning sessions to identify and create products and programs for the corporate team to sell.
  1. Facilitate marketing planning with Corporate account leads to support well-planned and executed content development, sponsorship placement, and marketing executions.
  1. Conduct annual and quarterly marketing and communications strategy sessions to support Development goals.
  1. Participate in weekly meetings to identify and evaluate opportunities, collaborate on proposals, determine next steps, and evaluate results.
  1. Train and guide Development leaders and staff to ensure the Arthritis Foundation is speaking with one voice, utilizing approved content and materials which comply with the Arthritis Foundation brand.
  1. Serve as cross-functional liaison to other areas within the Marketing Communications department to manage and support Development needs for content via assisting with campaign/creative/project brief development, communication, measurement and event support; provide creative guidance and project management to ensure smooth implementation.
  1. Serve as the marketing communications primary point of contact for programs and campaigns. Responsible for marketing plan with measurable goals and to provide support in media relations, social media, and story/blog/video or other content creation.
  1. Manage and advise the Development department of marketing communications initiatives.
  1. Direct the day-to-day work of Corporate Development and Cause marketing campaigns to ensure consistency among projects and compliance with contracts and organizational and industry best practices.
  1. Collaborate with Development staff and leadership to establish and execute a communications and engagement strategy to introduce the Arthritis Foundation to new audiences and cultivate strong new relationships.
  1. Advocate internally for unique Development needs for tools and materials to support their efforts.
  1. Monitor, track, and report on defined key performance indicators and demonstrate success of end results.



  1. B.A. in Communication, Marketing, Public Relations or related course of study; or related professional experience.
  1. Five+ years’ experience in marketing, agency client services, or business development, with evidence of successful marketing plan development and implementation.
  1. Strong work ethic, professional, well organized, independent, and a self-starter.
  1. A solutions-oriented, bright and enthusiastic team player.
  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  1. Available to travel with advance notice.
