POSITION SUMMARY (Basic purpose or primary function of job)

The Marketing Services Manager (MSM) for the Science and Advocacy pillar programs & Live Yes Network is responsible for the strategic planning, management, and hands-on implementation of national annual plan and brand strategies to assigned pillars and the network in support of the Arthritis Foundation’s strategic objectives. The MSM will support work with Science and Advocacy and Network leaders to anticipate and plan marketing and communications needs within the pillars and network and establish accountability. In this role, the MSM will meet all defined key performance indicators and demonstrate end results as a measure of success. 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (Principal responsibilities or job duties)

  1. Facilitate strategic marketing planning with Science, Advocacy, and the Live Yes! Arthritis Network to support well-planned and executed content development, media relations, and community engagement.
  2. Strategically plan, manage, execute and report on marketing efforts to bring people into the network and engage them.
  3. Train and guide pillar and network leaders and staff in marketing and communications processes and protocols to ensure the Arthritis Foundation is speaking with one voice and utilizing approved content and materials which comply with the Arthritis Foundation brand.
  4. Conduct annual and quarterly marketing and communications strategy sessions to support Science and Advocacy and Live Yes! Arthritis Network goals.
  5. Serve as cross-functional liaison to other areas within MarCom department to manage and support pillar and network needs for content, communication, and event support; provide creative guidance and project management to ensure smooth implementation.
  6. Serve as MarCom primary point of contact for conferences within Science, Advocacy and the network responsible for marketing plan with measurable goals and to provide support in media relations, social media, and story/blog/video or other content creation.
  7. Manage and advise pillars and network on marketing communications initiatives.
  8. Collaborate with Pillar and Network staff and leadership to establish and execute a communications and engagement strategy to cultivate and strengthen brand ambassadors.
  9. Works on communications strategy for such events as the Patient Focused Drug Development Conference and Platinum Ambassador Assembly. Develops new materials in support of mission priorities/activities within defined brand standards. Must achieve efficiencies in the preparation, accessibility and distribution of information.
  10. Advocate internally for unique pillar and network needs for tools and materials to support efforts.
  11. Monitor, track, and report on key performance indicators and demonstrate success of end results.

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  1. B.A. in Communication, Marketing, Public Relations or related course of study; or related professional experience.
  2. Three+ years of marketing, communications or public relations project management experience, with evidence of successful marketing plan development and implementation.
  3. Experience in a health-related field or working for health or science related clients.
  4. Strong work ethic, professional, well organized, independent, and a self-starter
  5. A solutions-oriented, bright and enthusiastic team player.
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  7. Available to travel with advance notice.
