Director of Peer to Peer Fundraising Events

POSITION SUMMARY (Basic purpose or primary function of job)

Director of Peer to Peer Fundraising, will report to the VP, Special Events and Innovation and will be responsible for strategic planning, program design, training, resource development and sharing for field implemented peer to peer fundraising events including Walk to Cure Arthritis, Jingle Bell Run and others as identified. Shares accountability with Regional Vice Presidents for accomplishment of revenue goals of $16 million plus for peer to peer events nationwide.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (Principal responsibilities or job duties)

  1. Works collaboratively with RVPs, EDs and event staff to ensure peer to peer event strategy is developed and executed successfully.
  2. Shares responsibility for revenue goal achievement within assigned scope.
  3. Participates as part of the interviewing process when needed and onboard new local staff and provides training and support to new hires. 
  4. Providing coaching and performance feedback to team members as needed, in consultation and collaboration with RVPs or EDs.
  5. Work with the Field Leadership team to successfully implement site growth or expansion by assisting them to designate potential sites and determine opportunities across the regions.
  6. Identify benchmarks and proactively work raise up solutions to ensure revenue goal achievement by monitoring individual and team metrics and performance versus targets.
  7. Fills in as able where staffing gaps exists.
  8. Identify, develop and refine peer to peer event related program materials and resources including playbooks, toolkits, resources and training materials.
  9. Develop and implement peer to peer event training program including new hire, annual event launches and on-going coaching/training through a variety of methods based on observed needs of volunteers and staff.
  10. Tracks performance of campaigns and assigned accounts including analysis and reporting to ensure goal achievement and facilitate long range planning, Providing analysis, data or reports on productivity and other performance indicators to management.
  11. Responsible for coordinating with all the internal partners engaged to develop marketing concepts, materials, online tools and social media resources.
  12. Staff any national volunteer committees related to peer to peer events
  13. Work with Corporate Revenue team to ensure national sponsor expectations are met and field staff are well informed and serves as day to day staff contact with Walk to Cure Arthritis and JBR national sponsors to ensure fulfillment and for national team activation
  14. Ensure program design meets the standards of cost-effective fundraising, while maintaining an acceptable level of quality and return on investment.
  15. Meet established performance measures, monitor results and evaluate effectiveness.
  16. Develop, initiate and maintain productive, collaborative working relationships with key external partners, including but not limited to, sponsors, vendors, and professional groups
  17. Set and adhere to clear standards, guidelines, tools and practices. Ensure adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, performance requirements, data standards and relationship documentation.
  18. Maintain up-to-date records and produce timely reports as needed.
  19. Serves as lead liaison with the Operations and ECRM department regarding the implementation of on-line fundraising.
  20. Works collaboratively to integrate Walk to Cure Arthritis into all Arthritis Foundation events (Advocacy Summit, JA Conference, Conference of Champions, etc.). 

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business/Communications or related field plus four to six years of experience at the local, regional or national level in developing and implementing successful non-profit Walk events.
  2. The ability to lead region staff and volunteers to improve upon the success of these events is essential.
  3. Exceptional consulting and influential skills.
  4. Interacts well with field staff and has experience working with volunteers.
  5. Ability to manage workload and timelines to ensure that peer to peer events are implemented properly.
  6. Excellent oral and written communications skills.
