POSITION SUMMARY (Basic purpose or primary function of job)

The Director, National Teams will report to the Director, Peer to Peer Fundraising and will be responsible for building out the program, recruiting and cultivating new national teams. This role will oversee a diverse portfolio of Corporate, Clubs & Organization and Friends & Family Teams.  This position requires a sensitivity and understanding of grassroots/community-based fundraising management as it relates to staff/volunteer interaction within the Live Yes! Arthritis Network. 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (Principal responsibilities or job duties)

  1. Responsible for developing and cultivating a national team portfolio, working with internal staff and external partners to identify sponsor and team pipeline
  1. Utilizes and develops standardized business processes, policies, guidelines, tools and materials to manage national team relationships
  1. Manage reporting system for all national team activities
  1. Works closely with supervisor to lead in the stewardship and cultivation in national teams, including serving as the Relationship Lead, Strategist or Team Member when appropriate
  1. Manages the identification, acquisition, and cultivation of new national corporate relationships and revenue, including national / multi-market sponsors and national corporate teams
  1. Works closely with RVPs, Executive Directors and Development staff to network and identify pipeline national corporate/family, clubs & organization teams and multi-site sponsorship through relationship expansion
  1. Establishes exploratory / discovery meetings with prospective corporate contacts to understand company goals and determine areas of engagement with Society (i.e., teams, sponsorship, volunteerism, in-kind, etc.)

  1. Develops partnership proposals based on opportunity and interests and utilizing Society corporate templates and branded materials 
  1. Ensures staff support for national team cultivation -- work in tandem as part of relationship management team and in collaboration local staff

  

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business/Communications or related field plus four to six years of experience at the local, regional or national level in developing and implementing successful National Teams.
  1. Event fundraising experience
  1. Peer training experience
  1. Leadership experience with a national level non-profit organization.
  1. Proven relationship-building skills.
  1. Excellent oral and written communications skills.
