POSITION SUMMARY (Basic purpose or primary function of job)

The Corporate Communications Specialist provides marketing and communications support for the organization’s corporate development activities.  The position is responsible for the strategic planning, development and creation of communications and marketing materials to support the acquisition and cultivation of new and existing of corporate partners.  With marketing and communications at the basis for the position, the Corporate Communications Specialist is a development professional at their core---working collaboratively to understand and contribute to the sales and revenue objectives so that they are expressed in a professional, creative and strategic manner--both for internal and external audiences (i.e., field colleagues e-newsletters, partner communications etc.).  In this role, the Corporate Communications Specialist will also support new business development through outreach to select companies. 


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (Principal responsibilities or job duties)

  1. Conduct corporate prospect and consumer research –matching both anecdotal and marketing data/ on prospects’ cause marketing, sponsorship and CSR activities to opportunity;
  2. Develop & propose ideas to upsell existing accounts, obtain new sponsors through innovative initiatives and secures funding for initiatives deemed appropriate by the National Vice President, Corporate Partnerships (“thought starter” concepts)
  3. Develop and maintain a library of plug and play PowerPoint template series of customizable corporate decks to address all stages of the corporate sales and servicing process (e.g. discovery meeting to proposal type and fulfillment presentations)
  4. Prepare partnership fulfillment reports, sale sheets, e-newsletters, etc.
  5. Facilitate strategic interdepartmental planning sessions to identify and create products and the corporate team to sell.
  6. Work with vendors/internal audiences on the creation/production of materials for consumer engagement programs.
  7. Write copy, as needed for the Corporate Partnership website.
  8. Develop sponsorship tools/materials for the field staff and maintain a Resource Center of materials.
  9. Manage percent of sale/proceeds partnerships.
  10. May partner on outreach calls with the goal of securing new corporate relationships.
  11. Other duties as assigned. 



  1. B.A. in Communication, Marketing, Public Relations or related course of study; or related professional experience.
  2. Three+ years experience in sponsorship, marketing, agency client services, or business development, with evidence of writing successful corporate proposals.
  3. Strong work ethic, professional, well organized, independent, and a self-starter.
  4. A solutions-oriented, bright and enthusiastic team player.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills is required.
  6. Excellent Powerpoint and design skills
  7. Proficiency with MS Office suite (Excel, Publisher, WORD, SharePoint etc), Abode Creative Suite to include Indesign
  8. Ability to work under the pressure of multiple deadlines is essential.
  9. Available to travel with advance notice.
