Living With Arthritis
Kids get arthritis, too! Of the 2.2 million people in the Upper Midwest Region (MN, ND, SD and WI) that are affected by arthritis an estimated 12,400 of them are children. The Arthritis Foundation Upper Midwest Region provides programs and services to families with children who have arthritis or related diseases.
The most common form of arthritis is characterized by the breakdown of the joint's cartilage causing stiffness, pain and loss of movement in the joint.
As another common form of arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis confuses the immune system so that it attacks healthy joints and tissue. As a result, fluid fills the attack sights causing pain and swelling
