You may attend the training for FREE and receive additional training in the University of Pittsburgh’s, Center for Aging and Population Health, Prevention Research Center, “10 Keys”™ to Healthy Aging program, in exchange for teaching one 10-week session, twice per week, of the integrated program—AFEP + “10 Keys”™.   Integrating these two evidence-based programs together is a venture funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to see what synergistic effect they have together.  Participation in this program does include a research study that is optional for each program participant.  Those instructors not interested in the integrated program can also choose to instruct an AFEP only class that is participating in the research study.  This class would need to be 10 weeks long and training would be free.

Training costs for AFEP +”10 Keys”™ is covered by the University of Pittsburgh on the condition that you agree to conduct one 10 week series for the AFEP +”10 Keys” ™ program with research study or AFEP only with research study within a year of being trained.

Certification from this online module is REQUIRED for any instructor who is going to be instructing in the new integrated AFEP + "10 Keys"™ program.  Once you create a username and password, PLEASE write it down or print it out since you will need it to print out your certification at the end.  We will need to receive a copy of your certification before you can begin instructing in the integrated program.

Format for training workshop:

9:00AM-12:00PM     New certifications

12:00PM-3:00PM     New & Re-certifications

*Those not participating in the ’10 Keys’ are dismissed at this time.

3:00PM-4:00PM     10 Keys to Healthy Aging training

Materials and lunch will be provided for all who attend the training.
