Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital, located in Whittier, California, proved that strength comes in numbers. A record number of individuals – 304 in total – joined the team and participated in the Walk. Hospital CEO Jim West endorsed the hospital’s participation, and in a record six weeks every department came on board with a team. They were resourceful and competitive, and even though they had never participated in an Arthritis Walk previously, they met and exceeded their fundraising goal. It took five large buses to bring everyone to the Walk that morning.
