Taking the Travail
Out of Travel
A
romantic weekend jaunt to the Caribbean, a week-long tour of the Italian wine
country, a road trip with the kids to Disney World. Sound like fun? Absolutely.
Vacation travel is a time to relax, get away from the pressures of the every
day, and reconnect with your family or significant other. However, when you
have arthritis, traveling can be more taxing than relaxing. Cramped
airplane seats, hours riding in the car, and unfamiliar hotel rooms can take
it's toll and cause more stress than the stress you're supposedly escaping
from.
And
vacation travel is not the only kind. There is also the daily commute to work in
the car, on the bus, or on the subway. As if dealing with the day-to-day
stresses of the job weren't hard enough, when you have arthritis getting to your
job and back home again could be the most trying part of the work day.
In this
section we have attempted to provide you with tips and resources to help take
the stress out of your next trip. So the next time you hop on a plane
for Europe, get in your car for that
Thelma & Louise road trip, or get on the bus
in the morning on your way to work, you won't have to dream about taking a
vacation from traveling.
