RA Just Diagnosed
RA Just Diagnosed is a free, community-based education program specially designed for people recently diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. Developed by the Arthritis Foundation, in conjunction with the University of Colorado School of Medicine, this innovative three-hour class supports RA patients and their families by providing:
- Informative facts about RA to help demystify this complex autoimmune disorder
- An easy-to-understand explanation of medication and treatment options
- Self-management strategies to help take control of the disease
- The opportunity to interact with others who have RA and share personal experiences and tips
The small group setting provides a safe, comfortable environment for those newly-daignosed with RA to share their fears and concerns, ask important questions and get advice that can help them make the best of their situation.
Tested and Proven
More than 80 percent of RA Just Diagnosed pilot participants:

- Felt the program was beneficial through interaction with others in similar situations
- Said they would use the program’s self-management tools
- Were more confident in their ability to manage the disease on a daily basis
