Advocacy Chair
Showcasing our advocacy efforts at Arthritis Walk is important to our overall mission. Driving public policy and increasing the funding of critical research are major goals of the Arthritis Foundation, and our volunteers on event day are huge part of that effort.
While much of this can be incorporated by the Mission Delivery Chair, in areas of the country where key stakeholders may attend your event (Senators, Congressmen, etc.) it might serve your committee better to have a volunteer position dedicated to Advocacy. Below are a host of documents to get you started, courtesy of the Arthritis Foundation Public Policy Department.
For more questions about Advocacy and how your event can implement more of our public policy goals, contact Laurie Markle, Grassroots Advocacy Coordinator, at lmarkle@arthritis.org.
