Tell Us Your Personal Story
To help keep the importance of the Arthritis Prevention, Control & Cure Act on the forefront of everyone’s minds, the Office of Public Policy & Advocacy is going to continue the Personal Stories campaign in 2006. These letters will be delivered in batches throughout the year.
WHO: Foundation staff, volunteers and people in the community are welcome to write a short personal story about how arthritis affects them and why the Arthritis Prevention, Control & Cure Act is important legislation.
WHAT: Personal stories are just that -- a first-person account of someone who lives with arthritis, or a parent who has a child with arthritis. Please remember to include the mailing address of the author so the letter can be delivered to the correct Member of Congress. If possible, a picture should be included to help give a face to the story.
WHY: Personal letters and visits by constituents is what helps Members of Congress and their staffs decide what are the important issues back at home. The more letters -- the larger the effect.
Send us your personal story, include your full name and home address, and we will make sure it is delivered to your Members of Congress.
