I wanted to send this note to THANK each of you for volunteering to be an E-Advocate with the Arthritis Foundation! Even though what you do as an e-advocate perhaps doesn’t feel like much, it really does make a difference. When you answer an email request to send a letter, all of your voices combined make a difference!
An example of that difference is reflected in the President’s proposed budget where there is a $5,000,000 loan repayment program for pediatric rheumatologist that are willing to go into states that do not currently have pediatric rheumatologist, such as West Virginia near us, to help those children that suffer from Arthritis
In the near future we will be starting an exciting new advocacy program at the state level. Look for more information on this new program later in 2013.
I want to challenge each and every one of you to come out for the walk. You can walk on your own, form a team or even join our team! Ask your friends and family to join you and if they aren’t able, ask them to support the walk financially. Spread the word to co-workers and think about forming a team at your company.
If questions are asked where the money goes, you can assure them most of the money raised will stay in our area. It goes to support families, provide education and pay for programs such as Tai Chi, water fitness, scholarships for the Ohio JA Camp just to name a few.
Arthritis impacts people of all ages; let’s make sure the Central Ohio area knows arthritis is not acceptable!
