Programs for Better Living
As the national authority on arthritis, the Arthritis Foundation is in a unique position to present programs that make a vital difference in the lives of people with arthritis. Our exercise and education programs were developed by experts and are proven to benefit people with arthritis.

The Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program allows you to exercise without putting excess strain on your joints and muscles. The gentle activites in warm water, with guidance from a trained instructor, will help you gain strength and flexibility. Participants enjoy decreased pain and stiffness. Swimming is not a pre-requisite.

The Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program is an exercise program designed specifically for people with arthritis that uses gentle activities to help increase joint flexibility and range of motion while maintaining muscle strength and decreased pain. Exercises can be done standing, or in a chair.

The Arthritis Foundation Tai Chi Program is designed to improve the quality of life for people with arthritis using Sun style Tai Chi, one of the four major recognized styles of Tai Chi. This style includes agile steps and exercises that may improve mobility, breathing and relaxation.

The Arthritis Foundation Walk With Ease Program will help boost your energy, reduce your stress and control weight based on programs which have been successfully implemented in research settings and have resulted in such benefits as increased physical activity, increased walking distance and speed, decreased pain and decreased depression. You will develop a walking plan that meets your particular needs; stay motivated, manage your pain, and learn to exercise safely. It is an important part of helping keep your muscles strong and your joints stable.
