Monterey's Whole Foods Market Helps Support
The Arthritis Foundation

Beginning July, 2011 through January 16, 2012, Whole Foods Market in Monterey will donate (at the customer's request) a nickel to the Arthritis Foundation for each reusable grocery bag they bring to checkout.  Please tell your friends and family to bring their bags and support the Arthritis Foundation!

Arthritis Foundation’s Central Coast Branch Celebrates the
Good Old Days

Good Old Days is a Pacific Grove tradition for over 54 years, and Monterey County’s largest arts and crafts show, featuring over 225 art and food vendors in downtown Pacific Grove, including a parade, live entertainment on five stages, old-fashioned games and contests - A great community and family event!

The Arthritis Foundation’s Central Coast Branch had a booth at the fair, and spoke with hundreds of visitors, promoting the Arthritis Foundation’s famous Jingle Bell Run/Walk fundraiser on December 10, 2011 at Lover’s Pt. in Pacific Grove, and providing information and resources for those affected with Arthritis.  View Photos

Monterey's Health Matters Expo

On Saturday, March 26, we exhibited at a booth at the Health Matters Expo in Monterey.  Thanks to Jim, Helen, Dr. Lieberman, and Susan for their outstanding support.  Over 50 individuals showed interest in learning more about our branch and/or participating in our 2011 JBR.  Significant networking contacts were made (which resulted in more education/speaking engagements, as well as team and sponsorship interest for the JBR).  Go team!  View Photos

Arthritis Foundation Voices Mission with
Congressman Sam Farr

The Healthcare Leadership Council, an organization promoting innovation, competition, cost-effectiveness and quality, invited the Arthritis Foundation to meet with other regional community leaders to discuss health reform with Congressman Sam Farr.

It was a lively forum with representatives from the Health Leadership Council, Santa Cruz Chamber of Commerce and the Dominican hospital, focusing on the maintenance and expansion of fundamental health rights for all citizens.
