A: On average, classes cost $2 - $5 per class. Each site sets its own price.

A: Each site sets its own class days and times. Class days and times change regularly.

Q: Does the AF offer scholarships/free classes?

A: No. Many facilities offer discounted classes, contact the facility directly for information.

Q: Does Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance pay for classes?

A: No. Although the benefits are undeniable, AF Aquatics classes are considered recreational, not physical therapy.

Q: What is the water temperature?

A: All pools are between 83 – 92 degrees. Each pool sets its own temp.

Q: Does the pool have a lift to help me in and out of the pool?

A: Many but not all pools do. Call the facility directly.

Q: Can someone help me change clothes and/or get in/out of the pool?

A: No. We have a strict “no-touch policy”.

Q: Do I need a doctor’s prescription to attend class?

A: Some pools do require this, others do not. Nonetheless, it’s always a good idea to consult a physician before beginning any exercise routine.

Q: Do I need to wear a bathing suit?

A: Yes.

Q: Do I need to know how to swim?

A: No.

Q: Do I have to get my hair wet?

A: No.

Q: Is membership required to join a class?

A:  In most cases, the answer is no.
