Simply put, our mission is to improve lives through leadership in the prevention, control and cure of arthritis and related diseases.  We know that covers, but we want you to know what it means for you.

 
PREVENTION
Advocacy at all government levels on behalf of people with arthritis. The Foundation has an advocacy network; Advocates communicate via email to legislators when prompted by the Foundation and Ambassadors develop and build relationships with members of congress and their staff on the federal level and at the state level with governors, local legislators and state health officials.


CONTROL
Evidence-based, certified Arthritis Foundation Life Improvement Series and educational seminars. The Foundation holds land and aquatic exercise and tai chi classes throughout the Region. Through strategic partnerships, we provide public health community educational programs that provide information on all aspects of arthritis and related diseases.


CURE
Research grants to find a cure for arthritis; more than $400 million in research grants have been provided by the Foundation since 1948. We provide Innovative Research Grants, funding projects that could lead to tomorrow’s treatments and possible cures at $100,000 a year for 2 years. Also, Young Investigators at $50,000 a year for 3 years. These grants are awarded to young and promising scientists help attract and keep the best and brightest minds into the field of arthritis research.
