New Skete

Fighting Arthritis has never been so easy…or delicious.  The Arthritis Foundation of Northeastern NY announces the formal partnership with New Skete Kitchens with the commencement of a fundraising campaign.  Starting January 15, 2012, anyone who purchases the Party Size New York Style, Deluxe Cheesecake (16 sliced) or the newly created Raspberry Chocolate Cheesecake, Family Size (8 sliced), a portion of the purchase will benefit the Arthritis Foundation ($8 for Party Size and $6 for Family Size).  The campaign will run through May, not only completing the campaign but concluding Arthritis Awareness Month.  The campaign goal is to raise $25,000.

Both the New York Style, Deluxe Cheesecake and the newly created Raspberry Chocolate Cheesecake is a perfect gift for Valentine’s Day or for a special occasion such as Birthdays, Anniversaries and Holiday Occasions.  Or it can make a unique thank you gift or just to show your appreciation.

The cost of the cheesecakes range from $27.50 for the Family Size (serves 8 unsliced) to $42.75 for the Deluxe (serves 16 sliced) and can be purchased by going to www.newskete.org or calling 518-677-3810.

Meet Two Reasons To Support The Arthritis Foundation

Ryann was diagnosed at age 4 with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Ryann started experiencing severe swelling in her knees that would make movement and prolonged walking or exercise difficult.  During her initial evaluation, Ryann decided to help others with Arthritis.
She wanted to work to get others to understand the everyday  difficulties of people suffering with the many forms of arthritis, and to help raise money for arthritis research and treatment.  Now at age 9, Ryann aspires to be an author.  She has written articles on arthritis for her school newspaper in an effort to help others understand the difficulties of living with JRA.

Audrey was diagnosed at age 8 with Juvenile Spondyloarthritis.  Audrey started experiencing severe pain in her joints that prohibited her from playing and participating in her favorite activities.   Determined not to miss out on the things she loves to do the most; she plays basketball, soccer, softball and skis.  Mornings can be rough and in the spring and fall; softball and soccer can be painful.   She keeps her family busy with Irish dance, girl scouts and serving as an alter girl at church.  She also plays trombone.  Last year Audrey raised $3,000 at the Arthritis Walk.
