E. Robert Harris, M.D. is a Clinical Professor of Medicine in the Division of Rheumatology at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.  He is also Co-Medical Director for the Rehabilitation Unit at Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital in Whittier, CA., and maintains a private practice of Rheumatology and Related Diseases in Whittier, CA.  Dr. Harris is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Pacific Region of the Arthritis Foundation and a member of the National Board of Directors of the Arthritis Foundation. He is also on the Board of Directors of the California Rheumatology Alliance.

Dr. Harris received his medical degree from Université de Montpellier, Faculté de Médicine in France.  His postgraduate training included an internship and a residency in experimental surgery at Jewish General Hospital/McGill University in Montréal, Québec, Canada.  He also completed residencies in Internal Medicine at Hôpital Nôtre Dame/Université de Montréal and a Chief Residency in Internal Medicine at St. Mary’s Bauer Medical Center Hospital in Long Beach, CA.  He completed his Fellowship Training in Rheumatology at U.C.L.A. Center for Health Sciences in Los Angeles, CA.  He is a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology and the Los Angeles Academy of Medicine.

Dr. Harris has published several articles and abstracts in such journals as “Journal of Rheumatology”, “Annals of Rheumatic Diseases”, “Arthritis and Rheumatism”, and the journal of “French Society of Medicine and Surgery of the Foot”.  He is highly involved in clinical research in Rheumatology and related diseases, and has served as Principle Investigator for more than 300 clinical research trials.  He is a member of several professional organizations including American College of Physicians, American College of Rheumatology, American Society of Clinical Rheumatology, California Rheumatology Alliance, Southern California Rheumatology Society, Clinical Society of Rheumatology Organizations and Los Angeles County Medical Association.
