DIVISION VICE PRESIDENT
FULL TIME, EXEMPT POSITION
This position is located in Cincinnati, Ohio

 

The Division Vice President (DVP) is accountable for the successful planning, development and implementation of a comprehensive fundraising and volunteer development plan in the Ohio River Valley market (includes Cincinnati, Dayton and Kentucky) that achieves measurable income growth annually and ensures strong volunteer leadership is in place in all markets assigned geographic or metropolitan areas. This position reports to the Chief Development Officer.

 

ESSENTIAL FUCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Collaborates with local volunteers and community leaders to deliver mission, advocacy  and fundraising initiatives;
  • Leads and directs the efforts of all fundraising staff in the Division by monitoring achievement to goals, establishing timelines, training staff, disseminating best practices and coaching for success;
  • Provides leadership, direction and guidance to staff and volunteers in the development of a local plan consistent with the overall Region Strategic Plan;
  • Works with Region Chief Development Officer and other members of the senior leadership team to achieve region goals for fundraising, community outreach, and volunteer recruitment;
  • Develops relationships with key business, civic, political and professional leaders throughout the designated area to advance the mission of the Foundation;
  • Identify, cultivate and solicit Major Gift prospects and corporate sponsorships within the Region;
  • Maintains effective relationships with individual donors, corporate and community leaders, public and private organizations and foundations;
  • Event, team leadership, major gift and account management responsibilities as assigned;
  • Attend all events within the Foundation for Development and Programs/Services as assigned;
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION

 

  • Bachelor's degree in business, non-profit or fundraising management, or related fields (CFRE a plus);
  • 5+ years of fundraising experience and demonstrated success managing fundraising operations and strategies to secure individual, foundation and corporate gifts; ideally in health related, non-profit settings and staff management;
  • Successful internal and external collaborations and partnership development experience;
  • Must be results-oriented with experience working with and through groups to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Ability to work in a changing environment;
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with limited supervision;
  • Strong presentation skills, including demonstrated verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds and possess valid driver’s license;
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed and to travel throughout the region.

 OFFICE ASSOCIATE (Harrisburg, PA)

 PART TIME (20 hours per week), NON-EXEMPT POSITION

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Office Associate performs a range of administrative, operations and limited development duties.  This position handles project-oriented and day-to-day tasks and must be detail oriented, able to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines. This position reports to the Branch Director.

 

ESSENTIAL FUCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • With the Branch Director, provides administrative support for day to day operations of the local market office;
  • Coordinate, and respond to communications from the public via mail, phone and email for information, donations, cultivation and referral;
  • Provide support at the local market to assist in Team Approach and Kintera;
  • Provide limited local special event logistical support;
  • Utilizing accounting and audit standards, organize opening of mail, scanning of checks, making cash deposits and providing information to the Operations staff for data management;
  • Work with local market staff to manage invoicing and account coding for Region Accounting Staff;
  • Attends and participates in statewide or regional meetings, program staff and committee meetings as necessary;
  • Attend all events within the Foundation for Development and Programs/Services as required.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION

  • Associate’s degree equivalent in business or related fields including data entry experience;
  • Experience working with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software, and social media channels;
  • Information Technology experience and knowledge a plus;
  • Organization, communication, and data management skills a must;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Must be results-oriented with experience working with and through groups to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds and possesses valid driver’s license;

 Job Title: Branch Director (Grand Rapids, Michigan office)

Job Description Summary (key responsibilities and requirements):

The Branch Director is responsible for the successful planning, development, and implementation of a comprehensive fundraising plan that achieves measurable income growth annually.  This position raises funds through community development consistent with the Region’s Strategic Plan including the coordination of special events and fundraising efforts in the locally defined area. 

ESSENTIAL FUCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works with the Divison Vice President to develop and execute an annual fundraising plan to meet the financial needs of the Branch and to maximize mission delivery in this territory. The plan will incorporate any individual, corporate and special event fundraising strategies.
  • Possess a solid command of the Arthritis Foundation’s mission, programs and offering and can articulate the benefits of the Foundation initiatives to potential community partners and sponsors.
  • Travels throughout Branch territory as a representative of the Arthritis Foundation to network and build contacts.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key business, civic, political and professional leaders throughout the designated area toward advancing the mission of the Foundation.
  • Maintain relationships with business and community leaders, media representatives, etc. to promote fundraising activities.
  • Proactively pursue annual budget goals related to corporate, special event and foundation revenue.
  • Attend events (mission or fundraising) as required.
  • All other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION

  • Bachelors’ degree in related field with minimum of 3 to 5 years progressive fundraising or related experience. CFRE preferred.
  • Excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Strong time management, project and event management experience, health background beneficial.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain long-term donor relationships.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with limited supervision.
