The Arthritis Foundation promotes government and private sector action to improve the lives of the 50 million Americans living with arthritis and chronic joint symptoms. We need your help, however, to get more government funding for arthritis research, to encourage early diagnosis and comprehensive treatment, and to improve access to quality health care for everyone with arthritis.
Arthritis Foundation Advocates Testify at Indiana Hearings!
Arthritis Foundation advocates, Renda and Courtney, testified in January 2016 on SB 41 in front of the Senate Health and Provider Services Committee. Due in part to our advocates powerful testimony, the Senate passed SB 41 50 – 0. Please take a look at our coalition's thank you letter to the Senate.
Arthritis Foundation advocate, Terri, testified in February on SB 41 in front of the House Insurance Committee. It has now passed that committee and heading to the House Floor.
What is SB 41? SB 41 puts limits on an insurance industry protocol known as step therapy which can require patients to try and fail on a series of medications before being allowed to have a medication their doctor has prescribed.
Thank you to our advocates for being our patient voice! You, too, can join the advocacy movement!
