Advocacy at JA Summer Camps 

Campers at the Heartland Region’s two summer camps, Camp Spirit and Camp JAM, participated in a letter writing project. These letters asked Members of Congress to cosponsor two pieces of legislation: HR 460 (Patients’ Access to Treatments Act) and HR 1827 (Pediatric Subspecialty Loan Repayment Program).  read more

Meetings with Members of Congress

Advocates were tasked with meeting with their Members of Congress over the August Recess to urge their Representative to cosponsor HR 1827, Pediatric Subspecialty Loan Repayment Program. Over 30 town halls and personal visits were scheduled throughout the country. To date, meetings within the Heartland have been held with 5 Members of Congress (Representatives Schock IL-18, Schneider IL-10, Visclosky IN-01, Latham IA-03 and Messer IN-06) and several more are being planned.  read more
