Because you CAN lead the fight against arthritis!

Become a Team Captain

Sign up today to lead a team in the Arthritis WalkSM. Organize a group of people to walk and raise money for the 70 million Americans and chronic joint symptoms affected by arthritis. It's fun and easy and we will help you every step of the way!

10 Steps to Building a Winning Team

  1. Set a goal for your team! A team is a group of five or more walkers raising at least $100 each, but try to recruit at least 10 team members.
  2. Hang posters and sign-up sheets in central locations around your office or school. Be sure to list yourself as the primary contact and include your telephone number and e-mail address.
  3. Spread the word! Send out e-mails, memos, and voicemails requesting participation. Put an article in your company or community newsletter.
  4. Host an informational meeting. Educate people about the Arthritis WalkSM and how they can make a difference. Show the Arthritis WalkSM recruitment video to inspire and motivate people to sign up!
  5. Build team spirit! Encourage some friendly competition among employees/departments by issuing an Arthritis WalkSM challenge.
  6. Follow up with your team's fund-raising progress. Answer questions and address concerns. Provide them with a list of successful fund-raising tips.
  7. Remind your team members about company matching. This is an easy way to double your fund-raising dollars.
  8. Determine whether your team will wear a uniform/team t-shirt at the event. A team shirt can be a great way to stand out the day of the event.
  9. Remind co-workers, family and friends that May is National Arthritis Month. Ask them to honor the 70 million Americans affected by arthritis and chronic joint symptoms by making a donation.
  10. Thank your team members for their commitment to help lead the fight against arthritis. Walk proudly with your team on event day!
