Volunteers of the Arthritis Foundation, New England Region, monitor federal and state legislation to review potential changes that may impact the quality of life for those affected by arthritis. This work includes tracking specific bills in Congress and tracking proposed legislation in the State Legislatures of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. Our volunteers visit our Congressional Delegations annually to share our views with their staff members. Locally, our efforts include letter writing, calling, and sending e-mails when a specific piece of legislation being considered will have an effect on those affected by arthritis. We consider these activities to be an important part of our mission. We need your help to make certain that funding for arthritis research is continued at the federal level, and that access to prescribed arthritis medications or prescribed arthritis therapies is not restricted at the state level.Get involved!
