The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine maintains a Web site and phone number for consumer information. This arm of the National Institutes of Health conducts and supports basic and applied research and training and disseminates information on complementary and alternative medicine to practitioners and the public. The Clearinghouse toll-free line focuses on NCCAM-funded research but will help with other sources for information on alternative therapies.
