Juvenile Reiter's Syndrome

When juvenile reactive arthritis involves multiple parts of the body and not just the joints, it is called juvenile Reiter's syndrome. Children with Reiter's syndrome are often sicker than those with just reactive arthritis.

  • Problems with skin, eyes, mucous membranes of the mouth and genital area
  • Joint problems large joints, such as hips, knees and ankles, and sacroiliac joints
  • Fevers
  • Chills
  • Muscle Aches
  • Pain in the affected area (higher than that of reactive arthritis)
  • Skin rashes
  • Eye inflammation
  • Mouth sores
