Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (Lupus)
in Children and Adolescents

What about nonmedical drugs and remedies?
It would be great if lupus could just go away with a wave of a magic wand, a prayer, a vitamin. The problem is that it will not go away just like that.

People will offer you advice, sometimes very strongly, suggesting that if you only do "this" or "that" it will go away because they heard or saw or read that "this" or "that" worked for someone else. They are trying to help you, but you have to think clearly about that unprofessional advice.

If it seems to make sense, talk to your doctor. Most physicians will not be opposed to trying something harmless provided you follow the medical advice as well. The problem occurs when patients reject medical advice, stop taking medications and become gravely ill.
