How do I register for the Western PA Arthritis Walk and Awareness & Family Fun Day at Kennywood?

Register online by visiting: www.wpaarthritiswalk.kintera.org. Or call the Arthritis Foundation WPA Chapter to register via phone at (412) 566-1645.

 

Do I have to buy a Kennywood Ticket to participate in the Western Pennsylvania Arthritis Walk at Kennywood?

NO! It is FREE to register and participate in the 2009 Western PA Arthritis Walk at Kennywood. The walk will wind its way through a closed Kennywood Park and the walk course will end outside the park. Only those who choose to stay for the fun-filled day at Kennywood AFTER the walk, will have to buy a ticket to re-enter the park.

 

How much do the discount Kennywood tickets cost?

A portion of the proceeds from discount Kennywood tickets will benefit the Arthritis Foundation, Western PA Chapter.

 

Adult Tickets: $25

Senior Citizen Tickets: $16.99 (55+ with ID)

Children Tickets: $20.99 (Under 46”)

 

*The tickets are only good for May 9, 2009 and one rain date in September. We have an unlimited supply of discounted ticket and tickets will be sold the day-of the walk at Kennywood. Do not purchase a ticket unless you are positive you will be able to attend or if you think you will fundraise $200 to earn a free Kennywood ticket. No refunds will be given for any reason.*

 

How do I qualify for a FREE ticket to Kennywood?

Individual walk participants that raise $200 will receive a free 2009 Arthritis Walk T-shirt and a free ticket to Kennywood for May 9, 2009. Participants must turn in all fundraising money before they will receive their free Kennywood ticket. The Arthritis Foundation is not able to make prize substitutions for Kennywood Prize Tickets. No refunds will be given for Kennywood Prize Tickets.

 

NEW- Would your family like to join us for the day at Kennywood but can't afford to financially? 

The Arthritis Foundation, Western PA Chapter is willing to work with families who can’t afford tickets. Please contact Lisa Mauti at (412) 566-1645 or lmauti@arthritis.org for more details.

 

NEW- Do you have a child with Juvenile Arthritis?

After the Arthritis Walk there will be a Juvenile Arthritis Awareness & Family Fun Day at Kennywood.  Dr. Paul Rosen of Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC will serve as the first speaker for the day. The Arthritis Foundation still is finishing the details on the second speaker and the agenda for the day, but one thing is certain: parents with children with arthritis will want to attend this important session that will provide education and interaction with other families affected by arthritis. How much is the Kennywood Lunch Buffet and what is included in it?

The Kennywood Lunch Buffet is $16. It is an all-you-can-eat buffet. It will take place from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. The buffet will include three entrees, three side dishes, fruit and beverages.

Kennywood Gates Open

Walk Awards Presentation

12 p.m.

Arthritis Awareness Session

12:15 - 2:30 p.m.

Kennywood Closes

Around 10 p.m.

 

Are dogs allowed at the WPA Arthritis Walk and Awareness & Family Fun Day?

Unfortunately because the walk is at Kennywood, dogs will not be able to attend this event. Dogs will be welcome at the 2009 Jingle Bell Run!
