Sign up today for the EQT Three Rivers Regatta Anything That Floats Race which will be held on July 4, 2010. The Arthritis Foundation WPA Chapter will be the benefiting charity for the race.

The Arthritis Foundation is now excepting art work for its 2011 Arthritis Walk Calendar Art
Contest. Children with arthritis should draw an original picture and submit it by April 1, 2010 for a chance for their drawing to be featured in the Arthritis Walk Calendar.

Patrick McGlade is running Across the Country (CA to GA) to raise money for the Arthritis Foundation. This will take place from January through April 2010.

Scientists looking for ways to repair demaged cartilage-- a leading cause of osteoarthritis-- are employing horses to test a new method of tissue regeneration that uses concentrated stem cells. Study Compares Arthritis Drugs' Effectiveness
Researchers at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine have found that less expensive triple-drug therapy is as effective as more expensive biologic drugs in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. Click here to read more.

Arthritis Foundation Western PA Chapter's Executive Director David Martin will serve on an advisory group for a very special arthritis research initiative. The WPA Chapter recently funded a $100,000 local rheumatoid arthritis research grant to initially fund the project and it has just been announced that an NIH grant will further fund the project for the next two years. We are so excited to report to you U.S. Congresswoman Anna Eshoo (D-CA) and Fred Upton (R-MI) introduced the Arthritis Prevention, Control, and Cure Act of 2009. Recently, over 350 arthritis advocates from across the nation, representing 40 states, went to Capitol Hill pressing Members of Congress for swift action.
