Classic Car Show

Join us on September 13 to see more than 100 classic and exotic cars and motorcycles on display at this great event. Contact us for information on how you or someone you know can get involved and/or display their classic beauties!

National Juvenile Arthritis Conference

Join more than 100 families from across the country who are impacted by juvenile arthritis and related diseases and learn more about managing their disease. These conferences can empower people who are challenged with a chronic disease to initiate healthy actions and behaviors as well as develop attitudes that can promote positive change. More importantly, many people form lifelong friendships which, in turn, decrease feelings of isolation and provide emotional support. This year's conference takes place in Costa Mesa, California, from July 10 to July 13.

Arthritis Self Help and Education

A Six-Week Course that can Change Your Life!!

For people with arthritis or fibromyalgia, living the most active life with the least amount of pain, fatigue and disability involves becoming an active partner in your arthritis care. This means working with your health-care providers as well as learning how to manage your arthritis on a day-to-day basis. The Arthritis Self-Help Course is designed to help you learn and practice the different skills needed to build your own individualized self-management program, and gain the confidence to carry out this program.
Past participants of the Arthritis Self-Help Course have experienced such benefits as increased knowledge about their arthritis, increased frequency of exercise and relaxation, increased self-confidence, decreased depression, decreased pain, and decreased physician visits.

2008 Arthritis Walk a Great Success!

Walkers from all around the KC metro gathered in Brookside near the Plaza this past Saturday morning to walk in support of arthritis research for a cure. While money is still coming in, we can happily announce that the 600 walkers who came out on Saturday helped raise nearly $100,000! Thank you to our sponsors, our entertainment, and everyone who came out and had a great time. We look forward to seeing every one of you again at the 2009 Arthritis Walk!

Art for Arthritis

This year's Art for Arthritis was a record-breaking success! Thank you to everyone that came to the H&R Block headquarters to help raise $60,000 for research for a cure for arthritis. Our silent auction this year had more items with more bids than in years past, and our live auction of artwork made by children with arthritis was more successful than ever before. Almost $10,000 was raised for scholarships to send people with arthritis from our chapter to the upcoming national Juvenile Arthritis conference.

Advocacy

A delegation of Missourians joined more than 400 others from across the country to converge on Washington D.C. for the Annual Arthritis Advocacy Summit. Our delegation of volunteer advocates joined three chapter staff members from the Heartland Region and called on the offices of each of the Missouri Congressional Representatives and Senators to ask for help with passage of the Arthritis Prevention Control and Cure Act, which is before both the House and the Senate.
