Exercise Rx in Richmond
Join the Virginia Chapter and Dr. Tammy Spring from Premier Healthcare Associates, Saturday, July 18 for Exercise Rx at the Downtown YMCA, 2 W. Franklin Street. Exercise Rx is a free workshop designed to inform you of the benefits of exercising with arthritis. Exercise is a proven and consistent form of treatment. Learn how you can add a daily dose of movement to your life. RSVP at 800.456.4687 Ext 303.
Recently, Exercise Rx visited Friendship Retirement Community and Outpatient Services in Roanoke. Nearly 100 people came out to hear Dr. Robert Johnson, Carilion Crystal Spring Rheumatology and Dr. Catherine Daniel, Roanoke Orthopaedic Center. Participants were encouraged by the physicians and local Arthritis Foundation Exercise Instructors to use physical activity as a way to reduce their arthritis pain. Instructors then led participants through sample exercises from the program, which is now offered by Friendship to the general public. We thank Friendship, the rheumatologists, and the instructors who were involved in making both programs a huge success! Click here for photos.
