Bill Ikard

Dr. Randall Schultz with The Orthopaedic Group has nominated Mr. William "Bill" Ikard as the 2008 Austin Arthritis Adult Hero for the Austin Arthritis Walk. Bill was born in Wichita Falls, Texas and graduated from University of Texas. He is a trial lawyer specializing in civil litigation and property tax law. He was named "Super Lawyer" by the Texas Lawyer and Texas Monthly in 2005. He is currently a partner of Ikard Wynne LLP in Austin.

Bill is an avid road cyclist and enjoys skiing and hiking. He remembers having arthritis for the past five years. In 2005, he suffered serious and debilitating pain after a 50 mile bike ride. Bill wanted to get back to his active lifestyle as soon as possible so he researched about Floyd Landis and his Birmingham Hip Resurfacing surgery. He found Dr. Schultz was the first to perform the surgery in Austin. After having surgery, Bill is able to enjoy golf again. Bill is a wonderful person who is overcome arthritis to keep an active lifestyle and a role model for adults living with arthritis.
