Local Research
During the past 10 years, the Southern California Chapter has proudly funded nearly $5 million in arthritis research. The following are just a few of its research funding priorities:
- Recruiting and sustaining pediatric rheumatologists;
- Encouraging young investigators to pursue research careers in rheumatic diseases;
- Funding the research and development of new methods of improving the daily lives of people living with arthritis;
- Supporting research that advances the scientific knowledge regarding the cause, diagnosis, and treatment of lupus; and
- Funding the study and development of new treatments that lessen pain and improve physical function.
