Arthritis affects more than 3500 children in San Diego and Imperial Counties. The San Diego Area Chapter sponsors many programs that are exclusive to children with arthritis and related diseases.

Joint Adventure Camp provides children with the first opportunity to meet others who share their experiences, and feel stronger and energized as a result.

Parent to Parent Program: The volunteer Parent to Parent Program provides direct support for parents and caregivers of children with rheumatic diseases.

Young Adult Network: A support and education group for young adults ages 21 and over, with rheumatice diseases.  This network proveds a forum for sharing common concerns and promoting personal and public awareness.

Looking for a Ride of a Lifetime!

The Arthritis Foundation's Amgen California Coast Classic Bicycle Tour is a scenic bike tour that shadows the Pacific from San Francisco to Santa Monica.  Rugged coastline, quiet beaches, lighthouses, giant redwood forests, famous wineries and world-class cities are yours to enjoy for each of the tour's eight days. Cyclists begin the 500-mile ride at San Francisco's famous Fisherman's Wharf on October 3 and end triumphantly in Santa Monica on October 10.  Along the way, they are fully supported, being served fantastic meals and staying in stunning overnight locations.  As our cyclists like to say, "This is the ride of a lifetime."

Recruitment for the 2009 California Coast Classic is underway.  To learn more about the 2009 Arthritis Foundation California Coast Classic Bicycle Tour, please visit www.cccsandiego.org.
