17th Annual Jewels of the Vine Wine Tasting

Mover of the Month

Our July Mover of the Month is Ron Metsala of Broomfield, Colorado.  Ron suffered a back injury 17 years ago which caused him to have numerous back procedures and led to a 100 pound weight gain.  Because of the weight gain, he developed OA.  He started participating in the Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program and after 8 months has lost the 100 pounds that he had gained.  "A year ago, I hated my life, " Ron said.  "Now through regular exercise, I am much lighter, I have more muscle tone and a lot less pain."  Ron and his wife, Trish, continue to participate in the Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Class and are very thankful to the instructors who have helped keep them motivated.

To submit a Mover of the Month candidate, please email ahager@arthritis.org a paragraph about why your nominee should be chosen along with a picture.   A new Mover of the Month will be posted at the begining of each month.

Ease of Use Monthly Product

The Ease-of-Use Commendation program was designed to help those living with arthritis.  Manufacturers are encouraged to deisgn user friendly products and packaging that could be recommended to millions of people living with arthritis.  There are nearly 90 products in the program.  For a list of all products, please click here.
