To meet the needs of the more than 2.2 million people in our chapter area, the Pacific Northwest Chapter depends on partner sites across the region to offer our programs.
The Arthritis Foundation Life Improvment Series programs - Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program and Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program are proven to decrease the pain and limitations of arthritis. Tai Chi from the Arthritis Foundation has also been specially developed as a safe form of Tai Chi for people with Arthritis. On this page you will find:
Are you looking for a safe and effective program to meet the needs of older adults and those with arthritis? You've come to the right place!
We offer leader certification and site partnership opportunities for three programs specially designed to help you offer safe, effective programs in your community. Once leaders are trained, our partner sites are responsible for starting up classes and offering them at their facility, with plenty of marketing and logistical support from the Chapter. For partner sites, the only cost associated with our programs is leader training workshops and optional materials for program participants.
A cornerstone of the Arthritis Foundation’s high-quality programs is leader certification. Leaders must complete a training workshop for initial certification and teach six classes (bout six hours) before becoming certified. To maintain certification, they must teach at least six classes per year and undergo re-certification every three years at an Arthritis Foundation training.
To accommodate the need for new leaders and re-certifications, we offer training throughout the chapter area each year. A list of trainings coming up around the chapter is on our Training Calendar page.
To learn more about leader certification and leader requirements, browse our leader information page.
Marketing tools, including customizable brochures, press releases, ads and more are available to all current and newly active sites. Because these materials are large files, we provide them on CD to site contacts and leaders. If your facility did not already recieve a 2008 Partner Site Update Packet with marketing CD, please contact us!
Have a marketing toolkit already but not sure how to get started? Download a tip sheet on using press releases and other materials in the kit.

In order to provide high quality programs, the Arthritis Foundation requires a small amount of paperwork from each site.
Why collect this information? The Arthritis Foundation is working in partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to show how many people benefit from our programs. We rely on the quarterly attendance reports from our partner sites to measure program growth and to ensure continued federal support. In addition to providing important information to the CDC, statistics from active classes help us to find grant funding to underwrite the costs of program leader training, keeping costs well below industry averages.
Has it been a while since you first became a partner site? Review facility responsibilities for offering these programs.
- Site Agreement Forms
- Site Agreement forms ensure that both your facility and the Arthritis Foundation agree to the ongoing requirements for offering these programs in an appropriate facility with trained leaders. We are required to collect these agreements on an annual basis. After your first year as a program site, we will automatically move your new agreement due date to January for ease of tracking.
- Quarterly Report Forms and Participant Waivers
Participant waivers and quarterly reports are the only paperwork required from all partner sites on a quarterly basis. Please use the Quarterly Report Form each quarter for each class you offer. In the Quarterly Report Form you will find both a one-page attendance record and a waiver form that is required for all participants. The quarterly report form should be submitted along with any new participant waiver forms no later than two weeks after the quarter ends (April 15, July 15, October 15 and January 15th).
